* Helping you be a better brewer.

Weve all been there. Starting out with a pen, paper and calculator. Maybe youve downloaded a spreadsheet that you use. Wouldnt it be better to have an app that does all that and keeps all your recipes in one place, neatly organized? An app so you can take your recipes anywhere? An app that synchronizes with your Mac and other iDevices?

BeerAlchemy Touch is that app.

Its not just for recipes though, it keeps track of your ingredients and orders and can even suggest which of your recipes you could brew today.

* Makes Recipe Creation Easy

BeerAlchemy Touch supports extract and all grain brewing (using fly, batch and BIAB sparge methods). Brews are organized as batches under their parent recipe and can then be further arranged into folders.

* Extensive Ingredients Database

BeerAlchemy Touchs extensive built databases of ingredients from around the world means you have the building blocks you need to design great recipes.

* Inventory Management

Keep on top of your supplies with BeerAlchemy Touchs inventory. Thoroughly integrated into the app, BeerAlchemy Touch can fit your brews to the ingredients you have in your inventory (for example by adjusting bittering hop additions to reflect the alphas of hops you have).

* Plays Well With Others

BeerAlchemy Touch can import and export Promash and BeerXML files using its built in web server. This works with any PC not just a Mac.

* Units

Use metric or imperial units freely within the app and BeerAlchemy Touch will automatically convert the value to your chosen unit system.

* Sync

BeerAlchemy Touch can sync by Wi-Fi with Macs and also with your other iDevices (requires BeerAlchemy for Mac 2.0 or later on the Mac and BeerAlchemy Touch 2.0 or later on the iDevices).

* Go Shopping

Create orders for missing ingredients on your Mac with BeerAlchemy for Mac and sync the shopping lists to your iOS device to take with you to the store. Mark as delivered and the ingredients get added automatically to the inventory.

* Whats new in BeerAlchemy Touch 2?

BeerAlchemy Touch 2 adds these features and more:

Pros and cons of BeerAlchemy Touch 2 app for iPhone and iPad

BeerAlchemy Touch 2 app good for

I would love some sort of tech support. And a way to send recipes back and forth without having to sync to another device.. Maybe a way to email or even text to brewing partners. Maybe even setting up your own network between brewing partners otherwise I find it to be spot on
App is really helpful to maintain your own home brewery. Nice synchronization with Mac application, a lot of options, calculators etc. But is annoying to navigate through recipes and batches an should be better resolved.
Good application we are a home brewery society of four guys, using from few weeks this nice application. PROBLEM on iPad mini, last update 04 january block the app during the opening so it closes immediately ... It need an urgent update to solve it.
UPDATE: great, they added in an update 48hr after my requests, what can I ask more? Five stars for the prompt update, but keep it always on top! Keep up with this good work! Very good app, its like having my BA for Mac on my iPhone. Im missing the feature of exporting recipe in pdf or to email it directly from app (too tricky to use a second device to connect to the web server and get an HTML export). It could be very useful to me also adding the print feature with AirPrint since I have a compatible printer, for both recipes and inventory list: that would definitely make it a complete app!

Some bad moments

This app works ok but even with the improvements its still lacking a few things. Biggest omissions for me are water volume calculations, grist totals, and the ability to alter the expected FG. I expected a lot more functionality for a paid update.
I purchased this because the price seemed reasonable. However, it crashes almost every time I use it. Whenever I try to input inventory it crashes, if I try to select a date other than today it crashes. Sometimes it just crashes when I cancel making some input or try to select another menu item. Since I downloaded it 10 days ago there have been three new versions and the author has responded to my feedback but until it is more stable I will just go back to using pencil and paper.
I have had none of the issues that others ate talking about and i have had BA since the first one. Reason i didnt give it 5 stars is the fact that they made me pay for this upgrade (not even a discount since i own the original as well as the mac version) as well as that I have never been able to sync it with my desktop version.
Cant tell if bugs are fixed because now after loading it blinks and nothing, goes back to home screen
As a homebrewer I find this app to be priceless. Long-time user of the older and newer versions of BA for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. The new versions enable support for iOS 6 and seamlessly integrate with other iOS devices as well as the desktop application. I am able to quickly and efficiently formulate a recipe or pull up an ingredient list no matter where I am for a spontaneous shopping trip. It all synchs back so all of my devices have the same recipes and inventory. I usually dont pay for apps that I could find for free but having the ability to use a single suite of application for my brewing saves time and makes things more efficient. Support for this app is outstanding. Any time that Ive found a bug I have emailed support and received an immediate response from the development team. Im usually informed that an update has been sent to Apple for review within a day. Functionality, Convenience, integration, and support, well worth the price of admission.
Although I prefer entry on the Mac, the iOS version is better for tinkering on the couch or during a brewing session. Inventory, shopping and water adjustments all seem much more usable. Even though Ill probably never again own an iPhone, I can recognize that this being a universal app adds value for some. I thought the developer set an extremely reasonable introductory price for upgrades, and hope he makes enough to where continuing to improve this app is worthwhile. My favorite addition to the Mac version was the "All Batches" view, since I number my batches. Id like to see this view make its way to iOS, but thats no reason to petulantly withhold a star. This is a very good tool for any homebrewer, especially as a companion to the Mac app.
